The first step to making a social connection is starting a conversation. So how do you begin? Many prefer starting with small talk or an ice breaker in a silent situation. The most important part of starting a conversation is not to be intimidated. Any one person can start a conversation with anyone. It may feel awkward the first time, but you will get the hang of it after you have done it several times.

6. Go on dates
Going on dates is another way to connect with people on a personal level. There are many things you can do to make it interesting. You can try new restaurants or bring a movie to your house to watch with snacks and drinks. Dates can also be outdoors where you can do things that you and your date enjoy.
7. Try getting involved in social events
Do not always be the guy isolated in a corner at social events. When at social events, try to get involved in what is going on even if you will not directly socialize. Consequently, you will build the confidence to start socializing. Social events allow you to build a network of people and make new friends. This is a great way to develop your conversational skills and as well as expand your social network.
