1. Banana Chips
If you’re looking for a sweet treat that’s also healthy, you’re not going to want to miss out on creating your banana chips. The first thing you’re going to do when making these is peel and slice a single banana.
After you’ve sliced the banana, you will need to dip it into the solution before placing it in the dehydrator. This will ensure your bananas don’t turn brown during the dehydration process.
Set the dehydrator to 135 degrees and assemble your chips inside. You will leave them there for a maximum of twelve hours. After every three hours, you should rotate your chips and after they’re done, let them cool.
Store your chips until you’re ready to eat them.
2. Beef Jerky
It’s no secret that beef jerky is one of the tastiest go-to snacks for people that are traveling or looking for something to eat. First things first, and that grabs the best jerky dehydrator.
Once you do that, you need to select your beef and trim the fat off of it. Before cutting into slices, freeze it so all pieces are the same.
Mix your spices and set them aside while you cut your meat. After cutting the beef, put your spices on and refrigerate it to let the marinade infuse with the meat.
After you’ve allowed the meat to marinate for a couple of hours or overnight, take it out and place it inside of your dehydrator. Allow it to stay in the dehydrator at 165 degrees for upwards of three hours.
Halfway through, bring it down to 145 degrees until it’s dry and bendable. Let the jerky cool and get ready to eat it.
3. Kale Chips
If you’re looking for a way to get your children to eat their vegetables, this is the best way to do it. Kale chips are easy to make, especially when you have a dehydrator on your side.
When you’re making your kale chips, remove the stems from the leaves and wash them thoroughly. After washing them, dry them using something like a salad spinner or paper towels.
Once dried, tear them into the desired size, keeping in mind as they dry, they will shrink. Toss the leaves with your preferred spices and place them in the dehydrator.
Your leaves can touch without overlapping too much; set the dehydrator to 145 degrees for an hour. Halfway through, bring it down to 115 degrees and leave the chips in for upwards of four hours until done.
