The most important thing to do when it’s hot: drink plenty of fluids. And quietly up to three liters, depending on thirst (if no health reasons expressly speak against it)! So always put a bottle of water next to your computer when playing Bet22.

The ideal thirst quencher is tap water. Since the body also loses minerals through sweating on hot days, you should also drink mineral-containing beverages such as juice spritzers, teas or even soups or broths in between. As a rule, however, you do not need to drink more than 2 liters a day, as a study confirms.

Important: Avoid sugary drinks, mix juice spritzers (with a lot of water) or drink homemade lemonade. Avoid bottled water, which is more ecological and healthier. Instead of ice cream from the package: Make your own ice cream without an ice cream machine.

2. avoid alcohol and caffeine in the heat

Even if it’s nice to sit on the balcony or terrace with drinks right now: Leave it at an after-work beer or a glass of wine. Alcohol deprives our bodies of fluids and minerals – and thus intensifies the effect of the high temperatures.

Especially in the heat, avoid alcohol at midday and don’t drink so much in the evening. Also avoid caffeinated beverages such as coffee, black or green tea, because caffeine puts a strain on the circulation in the summer heat.
