Disney CEO Bob Iger announced Zootopia 2 in an official statement. Walt Disney Animation will immerse audiences into this animated universe once again. A release date is not yet announced.
Critics praised the 2016 movie Zootopia which starred Ginnifer goodwin and followed her journey to become the rabbit police officer. The outstanding voice cast includes actors such as Jason Bateman Idris Eba and Jenny Slate.
The first film has been gaining popularity since its release due to the thoughtful treatment it gives to themes such as racial diversity and cultural diversity.
Disney has revealed that a theatrical sequel will be released alongside Toy Story 5 & Frozen 3 in autumn 2022, as well as Disney+ spin-off Zootopia+.

When is Zootopia 2 coming out?
Zootopia 2 could be released in November 2020 or November 2026.
Zootopia 2 will not hit theaters until 2023, although its release was initially announced alongside Toy Story 5 & Frozen 3 at Disney Infinity in February of that year. As yet there has been no update regarding its release date. It is expected to be released within one of three unannounced periods for Disney animated movies:

Stephanie Beatriz, star of Encanto, said in 2023 that her film’s crew was working on Zootopia 2 She also spoke about the possibility of a follow-up. Although it’s not clear how far the film has progressed, November 27, 2024 is still possible for its release.
The ongoing SAGAFTRA strike could make this window less productive. Zootopia 2 will likely hit theaters on March 7th 2025 to coincide with its predecessor. But due to early development work underway for this sequel film, its premiere may occur as early as November 26th 2025 or even earlier!
Zootopia+, the 2022 film in the franchise universe, gave us a glimpse of the world and brought back several beloved characters. What is the theme for Zootopia 2?
Zootopia 2 will probably keep up with Judy Hopps’ and Nick Wilde’s successes and failures as partners in the police force.
The plot may revolve around the two of them being given a new case to solve, depending on the way the story unfolds. The story may include the return of Mayor Lionheart, Bellwether, or a new villain connected to this case.
Disney, which is known to make the most of its properties and films, might also continue a storyline from Zootopia+.
There is no evidence that supports any romantic suspicions about Nick and Judy.
Zootopia 2 trailer speculation
The first Zootopia 2 Trailer is most likely to be released in 2025.
A teaser for 2025 is a reasonable guess, as the production hasn’t started yet. We’ll be able to know with more certainty when we can expect trailers once a release date has been announced.

Zootopia 2 is expected to be released in cinemas but there’s still a small chance it could land on Disney Plus before.
Disney would likely like its sequel movie(s) to debut at least 45 days in theaters before streaming is made available based on popularity and success of original movie(s). But who knows! Things could always change!

Zootopia+ is it Zootopia 2, or both?
Zootopia 2 is not a thing. The streaming anthology Zootopia+ will debut on the platform in November 2022.
Zootopia+ follows six different stories set during the events in the first film. Trent Correy, the film’s animation director, and Josie Trinidad will direct the future series.
The streaming series has kept certain aspects of the original movie but it’s not Zootopia 2. Instead, the second film is a complete sequel and will have no extra narrative within the parameters of its predecessor.

Disney has a history of assigning numbers for animated sequels. (e.g. Frozen 2, Toy Story 4). It is therefore reasonable to expect that the Zootopia 2 sequel will also be named Zootopia 2. A subtitle may also be added.
IMDb originally listed the movie as Zootopia 2 – Rise of the Mammalians. A fan art piece revealed that the title was false.
Does Judy and Nick have children in Zootopia 2?
Many people will wonder if Judy (Ginnifer goodwin) and Nick, (Jason Bateman), have developed a relationship since their first film. This could even result in a childbirth.
Rich Moore, co-director of EW’s film “The Great Gatsby”, stated in an earlier interview that they will need to address how two characters relate when producing more movies.
The director refused to comment on the possibility that the two were in a romantic relationship.
