In this article, we will be talking all about different poker hands and a few important things about them. So, let’s get started.

## 1. Royal Flush

Royal Flush is a sequence consisting of Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace. The sequence must be formed by the same suit of cards to consider it valid and is the strongest of the poker hands.

An example of Royal Flush is: Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of Hearts

## 2. Straight Flush

The next valid poker hand is Straight Flush, formed by a sequence of five consecutive numbers of the same suit.

For example, a Straight Flush formed by 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 cards of Diamonds. In case any two players have a Straight Flush sequence during the game, the player with the highest card sequence wins.

## 3. Four-of-a-Kind

Four-of-a-Kind is a sequence formed using four same cards of the different suits. For instance, 10 (Hearts), 10 (Diamonds), 10 (Clubs), 10 (Spades), and 9.

If two players have a four-of-a-kind sequence, the one with the highest number will win the round. However, if both the players have formed the same sequence, then the winner is decided by the fifth card in the sequence.

## 4. Full House

A Full House sequence is formed by three-of-a-kind and a pair of cards. A three-of-a-kind sequence means three cards of the same value but from different suits and a pair is also formed by two cards of the same value from different suits.

An example of a Full House hand looks like this: King (Diamonds), King (Spades), King (Clubs), 8 (Hearts), 8 (Spades).

## 5. Flush

Just a sequence of five cards formed from the same suit of cards. An instance of Flush is Clubs of 3, 6, 2, 9, 7 which can be any card and not necessarily a sequence.

## 6. Straight

A Straight hand is formed by simply taking five consecutive numbers which can be from different suits.

For example 4 of Hearts, 5 of Diamonds, 6 of Clubs, 7 of Hearts, and 8 of Spades. Now you can see that we have five consecutive numbers (4, 5, 6, 7, and 8). However, they all come from different suits of cards.

## 7. Three-of-a-Kind

Three-of-a-Kind is a sequence in which you have three cards formed by the same rank. An instance of the Three-of-a-Kind is Queen (Clubs), Queen (Diamonds), Queen (Spades), 6 (Clubs), and 4 (Diamonds).

So, here we have three cards of the same rank represented by the Queen and they are from different card suits. The other two cards can be anything.
